Sage Health Management Solutions Announces Improved Technology for Analyzing Imaging Reports
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota - June 2, 2010-- Sage Health Management Solutions, Inc. (Sage HMS), an industry leader
in e-ordering imaging technology, is developing new technology that improves the quality of imaging study reports. The value and
quality improvements will come from better analysis of the prose found in radiology reports, with information organized into
structured categories that are easier to understand and use.
The technology utilizes natural language processing commonly found on the Internet, similar to Google search or spam
filtering, to automatically classify the contents of radiology report text for improved communication and outcomes reporting.
Based upon the research of Ayis Pyrros, M.D. who will be acting as a consultant to the project, the new information technology
will accurately serve to alert both Radiologists and Clinicians when a critical value or finding has been recognized.
